Products Description
The HFD is a hydraulically operated plate and frame filter press built for separating solid particles from liquid suspensions. Filter plates and hollow frames are stacked alternately and compressed by a hydraulic ram, with the process liquid flowing through filter cloth trapped between each plate. Solids accumulate inside the frame chambers and form a dry cake, while clear filtrate drains out through channels in the plates.

For applications requiring higher pressure, special models are available with a reinforced frame rated to 1.0 MPa. All wetted parts are standard in cast iron with a chemical-resistant coating; stainless steel construction can be specified for food-grade or corrosive duty.
Features
- Hydraulic ram closure with mechanical lock. A hydraulic cylinder compresses the plate stack and maintains constant pressure throughout the filtration cycle. Once the plates are closed, a mechanical lock holds the stack in place even if hydraulic pressure is lost, preventing sudden release and operator injury.
- Filter cloth trapped between each plate and frame. Liquid flows through the cloth into the plate channels, while solids stay inside the hollow frame. When the frame is full, the pump is stopped, the ram is released, and the plates are pulled apart manually or with an optional hydraulic plate shifter.
- Expandable filter area from 5 m² to 30 m². Extra plates and frames are added to increase throughput and cake-holding capacity as production volume grows, without replacing the entire machine.
- Dry cake discharge without special tools. Once the plates are opened, the cake drops by gravity into a collection bin, conveyor or skip positioned under the press. For sticky cakes, a scraper blade, vibratory assist or automatic belt conveyor can be fitted.
- Factory options for specific process requirements. Explosion-proof electrics for solvent-based or hazardous-area operation; a thermal jacket for fluids that must stay above ambient temperature; an automatic plate shifter to reduce manual labor; and a fully enclosed drip tray for food and pharmaceutical applications where floor hygiene is mandatory.
