Oil filters are a common type of oil purification equipment. They are mainly classified into vacuum oil filters, mobile oil filter carts, coalescing oil filters, sludge/varnish removal filters, and transformer oil filters.

Oil filters remove particulate contaminants, water, and gases from lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, and insulating oil, thereby extending the life of components and fluid systems and improving productivity; they are commonly used in the power industry, such as power plants.

For example, Pall's HNP series vacuum oil filters can remove 100% of free water and up to 90% of dissolved water, as well as 100% of free gas and up to 80% of dissolved gas. Pall's HVP series vacuum oil filters can also remove 100% of free water and up to 90% of dissolved water.
