TYD High Water Content Hydraulic Oil and Water Separator
Industrial oil systems frequently encounter water ingress from sources such as cooling leaks, condensation, or process contamination. When water content in hydraulic oil, turbine oil, lubricating oil, or fuel oil exceeds 0.5%, the fluid rapidly loses its lubricating properties, accelerates component wear, and promotes oxidation and additive depletion. Conventional coalescing filters and settling tanks struggle to handle bulk water and often require frequent demulsifier cartridge changes, driving up maintenance costs. The TYD Oil and Water Separator is purpose‑engineered for these demanding conditions, combining a high capacity vacuum dehydration system with film evaporation and molecular evaporation technologies to remove free water, emulsified moisture, and dissolved water in a single pass restoring oil clarity and performance without relying on consumable demulsification media.
Core Separation Mechanism
The TYD employs a two stage separation process that distinguishes it from conventional coalescers. In the first stage, oil enters a preheater that raises its temperature to 55‑65°C, reducing surface tension and facilitating water release. The heated oil then passes into a vacuum chamber maintained at an absolute pressure of ≤ –0.095 MPa. Under this deep vacuum, the effective boiling point of water drops to approximately 40°C, causing bulk water and dissolved moisture to flash into vapour.
To maximize evaporation efficiency, the TYD uses two complementary technologies: thin‑film evaporation spreads the oil into a microthin layer over a heated conical surface, exposing a large surface area to the vacuum; molecular‑evaporation further promotes the diffusion of water molecules from the oil phase to the vapour phase at the molecular level. This combination ensures that even tightly emulsified water which resists simple gravity separation is broken and removed. The vapour is then condensed and discharged via a condensate pump, while the dry oil is extracted from the bottom of the vacuum chamber.
Unlike conventional separators that depend on periodic replacement of demulsifying filter elements, the TYD's evaporation based mechanism is maintenance free for this function. The technology has demonstrated stable performance over operational periods exceeding 20 years in field installations, with no loss of dehydration efficiency.
Features
1. Quickly dehydrates oil containing up to 50% water, with a dehydration rate of 0.5–2.5 kg per minute.
2. Uses film evaporation and molecular evaporation to break emulsification and restore oil clarity; technology lasts over 20 years with no need for periodic demulsification filter replacement.
3. Equipped with automatic backwash filter element and large-capacity precision filtration material to effectively remove particles from oil.
4. Features infrared liquid level automatic control for man-machine detachment, ensuring simple and safe operation.
5. Offers Siemens PLC, flow meter, online moisture meter (PTT-001), online moisture and particle monitor (PTT-M), weatherproof enclosure, roadworthy trailer, Pirani digital vacuum gauge, and TPBZ regeneration system to remove acidity, sludge, and discoloration.
